The entire cast of The Sound of Music had their first reunion after 45 years, and it happened on Oprah‘s TV show.

To mark the 45th anniversary of the classic film musical, the entire cast of The Sound of Music was reunited for the first time, and Oprah interviewed them on her show recently.

Dame Julie Andrews, now 75, and Christopher Plummer, now 80, and along with the Von Trapp children recalled their happy times during the making of the 1965 five-Oscar winner movie.

All of the seven Von Trapp children joined the historical reunion on Oprah’s famous sofa, which include Charmian Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Heather Menzies (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl).

And in spite of the fact that The Sound of Music was among the top-grossing movies of all time, the stars admitted that 20th Century Fox thought it may not be a big hit, since critics those days said the film was laced with a lot of cloying sweetness.

The whole interview can be watched at The Oprah Winfrey show official website.
