Empire State Building On Its 80th Year, Still Attracts Millions Of Local and International Tourists

New York‘s tallest structure, the Empire State Building, is celebrating its 80th year today, May 1, 2011, according to reports by several international news sites.

Construction of  the Empire State Building, a 102-story building, began on March 17, 1930, and was build for only a year and 45 days.

In its 80-years of existence, the 1,454-foot Empire State Building has not change its style and views.

The New York structure has attracted over 3.5 million local and international tourists annually.

According to reports, the Empire State Building will undergo a $550 million renovation that is 13 times  more, than its $41 million construction cost. The original Art Deco style of the building will be restored and will make it more energy-efficient and eco-friendly.
