As announced by Julien’s Auctions on their official website on Monday, May 28, 2012, this two-day event will feature historic collection of items from music icons and sports heroes, including Muhammad Ali, Buddy Holly, Amy Winehouse, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, and Elvis Presley.

According to its auction page, Elvis Presley‘s original crypt is located at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee and has remained empty, with an Elvis‘ statue to commemorate his time and also serves as nostalgic place for those who want to come and visit ‘The King’.

Based on history, Elvis Presley was buried on the said crypt for two months along with his mother Gladys Presley, while his father Vernon Presley is still waiting for the approval from the state of Tennessee for their burial on private grounds in Graceland.

This Elvis Presley auction lot (#796A) also includes the opening and closing of the vault and crypt for burial; memorialization inscription; and use of a small chapel for a committal service, with bidding now ongoing and starts at $100,000, noting that the buyer cannot move the said crypt.

“I just consider that if you’re an ultimate fan of Elvis Presley, it’s an opportunity. It’s definitely a conversation piece. Only one person can say, ‘Hey, I’m going to be buried where Elvis Presley was.'” Julien’s Auctions President and CEO Darren Julien told The New York Times in a recent phone interview.

Meanwhile, other memorabilia items from Elvis Presley, who passed away on August 16, 1977 and was buried two days later, that are included at Julien’s Auctions auction event is his custom made jewelry, a 14k gold medallion and is being estimated to fetch $25,000-$30,000.
