Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra gold cape at the Heritage Auctions is expected to bring in $20,000. This was revealed by international news sites March 22, 2012.

The gold cape was worn by Taylor in the classic film “Cleopatra” in 1963.

Reportedly Taylor’s Cleopatra gold cape would start bidding at $10,000.00, but some bidding insiders expected the bid to soar to “hundreds of thousands.”

Cleopatra’s ceremonial cape is winged–shaped and designed with golden leather, exquisitely complemented by seed beads and bugle beads.

The gold cape and Taylor’s costume for the movie Cleopatra was known to have cost a fortune during that time.

Further reports said that the gold cape will be sold at the Heritage Auctions together with the wig worn by Elizabeth Taylor in the same film, Cleopatra.
