Elizabeth Hughes, New YouTube Sensation because of Microphone Malfunction (Video)

Elizabeth Hughes, the 8 year old girl, who sang the US National Anthem during a local hockey game between the Norfolk Admirals and Connecticut Whale, is now a YouTube Sensation. This is according to International news sites, January 14, 2011.

Hughes was singing the “Star Spangled Banner,” with a beautiful voice that reverberated through the stands when the mike suddenly malfunctioned. The brave girl continued singing and the generous crowd rescued her by singing along with her.

When interviewed, together with her mom, the Virginia lass said:

“I was really happy, that they were supporting me, I was glad that they did that,” referring to the audience.

She has received now offers from TV shows like Inside Edition and the like.

Elizabeth Hughes’ YouTube video goes viral with more than 2 million hits, making her the new YouTube sensation.
