According to a press release at EarthHour.org on Friday, Lorax has promised to turn his mustache into ngreen for a whole day on March 31 if 500 children promise to switch their lights off for Earth Hour, as part of the ‘I Will If You Will’ campaign with Earth Hour 2012.

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” A statement by Lorax reads at EarthHour.org, noting that children should ask permission from their parents before turning off the lights at home.

“We have a lot to learn from the passion, commitment and knowledge of young people who are making a difference to the planet – these are truly the most inspiring stories,” Andy Ridley, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Earth Hour, was quoted on the report.

Apparently, Earth Hour is seeing record numbers of children and teenagers worldwide participating in the Earth Hour 2012, in the awareness to protect the planet by doing activities such as recycling at home or planting some trees at school.

As reported earlier, various organizations around the world including National Hockey League and HSBC vowed to support the one-hour lights off, with YouTube also supporting the cause by putting a toggle switch on all their videos, giving viewers a choice to have black background.
