“We expect these contests will encourage students to learn about Earth Day and understand how issues such as water conservation and planting can affect their day-today lives in an entertaining way. We look forward to seeing what the students come up with and hope the contests inspire their creativity in addition to teaching them about being good to the environment.”

After viewing the entries, Schucker further stated that:

“We were very impressed with so many records it was hard to choose just one winner, but the enthusiasm expressed by Gregory in his bold and colorful poster really stood out.”

Gregory Lawson of Willard Elementary School and his entire class received a free pizza party. His poster was displayed at R & S Landscaping’s Facebook page and website. Lawson’s poster was also featured at the Ridgewood’s Whole Foods Market the whole month of May.
