Dwyane Wade said that the Miami Heat “are a family, a team.” This was how Wade clarified the status of his highly publicized hot exchange against Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra during Game 3 of the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, according to a report at NBA.com on Saturday, May 19, 2012.

The Heat point guard was caught on video having a heated conversation against Spoelstra during the Heat game vs the Indiana Pacers. Wade had to be restrained by some Miami players as seen on the video.

Miami cancelled the team’s practice and media availability on Friday, day after Indiana beat them at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN.

Wade has broken his silence during the Heat’s team practice on Saturday. According to Wade, his exchange with Spoelstra as part of being “emotional and in the heat of the battle.” He also reiterates that it wasn’t his first exchange with Spoelstra “and it won’t be the last.” As a consolation to Miami fans, Wade explained that the Heat has already moved past any turmoil as they get ready for Game 4 on Sunday.

Reports say that Wade visited Indiana coach Tom Crean, his college coach at Marquette, on Friday.
