Drake concert at Universal Studios canceled after a loss of family member

Canadian rapper Drake has canceled his concert at Universal Studios in Florida after learning that he lost a family member, and there will be no substitute performance.

According to a report at TMZ on Friday, July 15, 2011, Drizzy Drake’s concert, which is supposed to be held on Saturday night, has been canceled after his uncle passed away.

“We regret to announce that Drake will not be able to take the stage at Universal Orlando Resort due to a death in the family.” A rep of Drake was quoted as saying on the report, but did not reveal the name of Drake’s uncle.

“He hopes that his fans understand the situation he finds himself in and know that he fully intends to return to the area in the future. He thanks Universal Orlando Resort and his fans for their continued support.” The rep added.

After releasing his first album “Thank Me Later” in June 2010, Drake will be releasing his next album “Take Care” on October 24, 2011, which happens to be his 25th birthday.
