Domino’s Pizza Japan Offers $31,000 Per Hour Part-Time Job

Domino's PizzaTo celebrate the 25th anniversary of Domino’s Pizza in Japan, Domino’s Pizza Japan is now hiring one lucky person at a rate of 2,500,000 yen ($31,030) for an hour’s work this December. According to several news sites, they are looking for a part-time worker, aged over 18, with no experience required. Uniform will be provided.

No other details is given. A company spokesman said that they will provide futher details only by November 10.

“Basically it’s anybody over 18, no questions about education or experience. We’re actually a little surprised by how much of a response it’s getting,” their spokesman said.

Their website said that anyone interested to apply must file an application. Interviews will be given to those who will pass the initial screening.

Reactions among Japanese people are varied. Some people said that the salary was cheap for the probable advertising impact it could deliver. Some said that the money might be better used for other worthwhile endeavor, like raising the salary of all the workers.

In another promotion, anyone born on September 30 this year (the date the first Domino’s Pizza opened in Japan), will receive a free pizza on their birthdays every year until they turn 25.
