As announced by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on its official website that day, none of the additional products being recalled have tested positive for Salmonella, which were manufactured between December 9, 2011 and April 7, 2012.

As reported earlier, Diamond Pet Foods announced late last month a voluntary recall of one production run of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula due to the same health issue, an extension of their earlier dog food recall that month, affecting the brand Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice.

FDA noted that with no dog illnesses have been reported that time but Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on their official website last Thursday, May 3 that 14 individuals infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Infantis have been reported from 9 US states.

CDC reported that among the nine patients with available information, five of them were hospitalized but no reported casualties, as multiple brands of dry pet food produced by Diamond Pet Foods at a single manufacturing facility in South Carolina have been linked to the said health problem.

Meanwhile, Diamond Pet Foods emphasized in the recent FDA report that have taken corrective actions in the said facility but is still pulling them from store shelves as a precautionary safety measure; and even launched a dedicated website DiamondPetRecall.com.

Apparently, consumers are being advised to visit the said website, where each brand page has the correct and complete list of the production codes affected by the recall, with the additional brands include Country Value, Diamond, Diamond Naturals, Premium Edge, Professional, 4Health, Apex, Taste of the Wild, and Kirkland Signature.

Nevertheless, Diamond Pet Foods expressed their apologies for any issues this current dog recall may have caused trouble to consumers and their pets, and invited concerning pet owners to contact Diamond Pet Foods via a toll free call at 1-866-918-8756, Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. EST.
