A tornado hit Dexter, Michigan and destroyed over 100 houses on Thursday, March 15, 2012, as reported by several international news sites.

The slow-moving Dexter Michigan tornado downed trees, cut off power lines and caused road flood in the rural southeastern area. Large hail, heavy rain and high winds were part of the Thursday storm.

Initial tornado assessment by authorities reported about 105 damaged homes in Dexter and 13 others were completely destroyed.

There were no reported injuries or fatalities caused by the tornado.

Some reports quoted National Weather Service meteorologist Amos Dodson that the tornado also touched down in Monroe County‘s Ida Township and northwest Lapeer County, near Columbiaville.
