The BMW i8 Concept car was on display at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in COBO Center, Detroit, Michigan, starting Monday, January 9, 2012, according to reports by several international news sites.

During the first day of the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, press people got the chance to see the features of the new BMW model.

January 9-10 of the Detroit Auto Show 2012 is scheduled for press viewing. The public will have the opportunity to see the latest car models from top manufacturers starting January 14 until January 22.

The official website of BMW described the i8 Concept as “The most progressive sportscar.” BMW i8 Concept is a hybrid of the electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept and the high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine that provides a power of 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft). It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) just below five seconds.
