Manila, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd) announced a ‘no classes’ tomorrow, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in some areas in Luzon, due to flood and continuous heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm ‘Gener’; despite the fact that PAGASA did not issue Public Storm signal warnings to them.
According to the official DepEd Twitter account on Monday, July 30, 2012, Tuesday classes will be suspended in Rosario, Cavite; Mabitac, Laguna; Obando, Bulacan; and some barangays in Valenzuela, as of 10 p.m. (local time).
For Valenzuela, DepEd noted that the barangays that do not still have classes tomorrow are Mabolo, Palasan, Pariancillo Villa, Pasolo, Poblacion, Polo, Tagalag, Wawang-polo, Arkong Bato, Balangkas, Bisig, Coloong, and Isla.
As noted by DepEd, they are still waiting for further announcements from local government units (LGUs) of possible class suspensions, and vowed to post them on their official Twitter account (@DepEd_PH) and official Facebook page immediately as soon as they receive them.
