Deped: No classes on all levels in Metro Manila (NCR) on July 27 due to tropical storm Juaning

Manila, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd) announced on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 that there will be no classes on all levels in Metro Manila (NCR) tomorrow, Wednesday, July 27, 2011.

As reported at local TV news on Tuesday evening, Deped announced the suspension of classes on all levels (pre-school to high school) on Wednesday, July 27, due to tropical storm “Juaning”.

“All classes in NCR and Region 3 will remain suspended tom, July 27, for kindergarten, elementary and secondary.” DepEd tweeted a few minutes ago.

As of 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, PAGASA raised Public Storm Signal No. 2 in Camarines Provinces, Albay, Catanduanes, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, Bataan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Polillo Island and Metro Manila.

PAGASA said that Public Storm Signal No. 1 is being raised to 22 areas in Luzon and in Bicol region including Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Mindoro Provinces, Sorsogon, among others.

However, Deped reminded the public that they do not cover college and universities and advised parents and student to contact Commission of Higher Education (CHED) or respective school administration.
