Dennis Rodman Joins Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame

Dennis Rodman was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday, August 12, 2011 in Springfield, Massachusetts, according to reports by several international sports sites.

Known in the NBA as the “Worm“, Rodman won five NBA championships, two Defensive Player of the Year trophies, seven rebounding titles, seven-time All-Defensive First Team choice and played twice in the All-Star games.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2011 also includes Tex Winter, Teresa Edwards, Tara VanDerveer, Arvydas Sabonis, Artis Gilmore, Tom (Satch) Sanders, Herb Magee, Chris Mullin, the late Globetrotter Reece (Goose) Tatum and Rodman.

Winter, an assistant coach of Phil Jackson in Chicago, is reportedly the innovator of the triangle offense that led to many championship successes for the Bulls and the LA Lakers.
