Moscow Bound Delta Airlines Boeing 767 Flight 30 Lands Safely back at JFK Airport

According to international news sites, Delta Flight 30 bound for Moscow returned and landed safely at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport at 5:50 p.m on Sunday night. Earlier reports by other news sites indicated that one of the wing of Delta Airlines Boeing 767 caught fire. However, an engine problem forced the plane to return to JFK airport after departing at about 4:40 p.m..

The plane is carrying 193 passengers and 11 crew members of Delta Air Lines. No one was reported injured in the incident.

The passengers were transferred to another plane that was scheduled for Moscow at about 8 p.m.

About 100 firefighters and other emergency crews were put on standby at the airport before plane’s arrival.

An investigation is underway, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
