According to Daily Mail on Monday, April 16, 2012, Daphne Selfe recently agreed to pose as Madonna in her prime and wore a replica of the singer’s iconic conical bra and corset for Blonde Ambition tour back in 1990.

As noted in the report, Ms. Selfe, whose husband Jim passed away in 1997 at the age of 73, has three children: Mark, 57, Claire, 53, and Rose, 51; grew up in Berkshire and won a local newspaper’s modelling competition at the age of 20.

“I’d been told I was nice looking a couple of times, but no, not really. I then started working steadily, it was wonderful.” Daphne told the paper, noting that she was not really considered as beautiful when she was younger.

“In those days, all models had training, we were shown how to walk and stand elegantly. I started off modelling fur, which in those days wasn’t controversial. I did mainly work as a house model, and a few advertisements.” Daphne added, explaining her earlier modeling years.

“I’ve never had anything done to my face. Not that poison, not a facelift. I think it’s a waste of money. Anyway, I couldn’t afford it!” The world’s oldest supermodel said of her beauty secret, noting that she thought she could not return to modeling when she got married in 1954 and had a family.

“I think it’s partly down to good genes. My mother was a livewire, she lived until she was 95. I’ve never really bothered with skin cream or anything like that, although I might use a bit of Boots.” Daphne Selfe added, who now models for the charity work of Oxfam’s Big Bra Hunt of UK.
