Dallas Texas Tornadoes: National Weather Service Confirms ‘Large and Extremely Dangerous Tornadoes in Dallas Fort Worth Area’

The National Weather Service confirms two dangerous tornadoes in the Dallas Fort Worth area as announced in the following tornado warning in its website, April 3, 2012.

The deadly tornadoes hurled tractor trailers about 100 feet through the air, and caused power lines to snap, as schools are forced to lockdown. The NWS suggested that people should move into their underground areas or the lowest part of their homes, if their houses have a sturdy foundation. The NWS released the following tornado warning.

LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF

GREENVILLE…MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

 

THIS IS A TORNADO EMERGENCY FOR GREENVILLE AND ALONG INTERSTATE 30

NEAR GREENVILLE!

 

* THE TORNADO WILL BE NEAR…

GREENVILLE AND LONE OAK AROUND 435 PM CDT…

CAMPBELL AND NEYLANDVILLE AROUND 445 PM CDT…

COMMERCE AROUND 500 PM CDT…

 

THIS WILL IMPACT I-30 BETWEEN MILE MARKERS 86 AND 96.

According to further reports, the tornadoes have torn off roofs and caused damage to homes and property. To date, there were no serious injuries reported however, but a tornado emergency has been declared in Texas.
