As reported by Czech TV news, Czech Republic President Vaclav Klaus was with Chilean President Sebastián Piñera in a mini press conference in Chile when he apparently pocketed a pen.

The YouTube video entitled “President of Czech Republic steals pen” was uploaded on April 10, 2011 and has now more than 1.5 million views as of this writing, wherein a red circles with arrow showed the detailed activities of Mr. Klaus.

Interestingly, the video shows that President Klaus opened the box that contained the pen and somehow seems to be amused with it which later he got it with his right hand and place his right hand below.

Moments later, while President Piñera was making his speech, the left hand of President Klaus seemed to be putting something on his left pocket and then he arranged his coat and closed the empty box, as a ‘crime scene’ soundtrack is being played.

But while a lot of speculations surfaced, President Klaus’ spokesman Radim Ochvat told reports on Tuesday that the pen was actually a “common pen with a logo of the state or office, which presidents and members of their delegation receive during state visits.”

On the same note, President Piñera’s spokeswoman Constanza Cea supported the claim and saying that the pen is free to all the guests of the Chilean president.
