Corporal Daiem Hadjaie Finally Released by the NPA

According to local TV News, Corporal Daiem Hadjaie was finally released today, November 28, 2010 by the New People’s Army or NPA.

The corporal was captured last November 16 by the NPA in Monkayo town and was brought along as they escaped and were pursued by government soldiers. Due to ill health, Corporal Hadjaie slowed the reds during their pursuit. He was suffering from abdominal pains, mimicking hepatitis.

The captured soldier from the 25th Infantry Battalion was released in Compostela Valley. The NPA spokesperson said they have set him free for “humanitarian reasons.”

Corporal Hadjaie was brought to the military hospital afterward to ensure that his medical needs are properly attended to.
