Corona impeachment update: CJ Renato Corona salary, benefits in 10 years at SC reached over P21 million

Manila, PhilippinesSupreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Renato Corona reportedly received more than P21 million in salaries and benefits, including fringe benefits, within 10 years from 2002 to 2011.

As featured on ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 during the live coverage of the ongoing CJ Corona impeachment trial at the Senate, SC chief judicial staff officer Araceli Bayuga stood at the witness stand.

As told by Ms. Bayuga during her testimony that day, she said she is the one handling the ‘alpha list’ which is a record of the salaries and taxes of magistrates including Chief Justice Renato Corona.

According to the Supreme Court employee, CJ Renato Corona, whose details on his SALN (Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth) is being questioned, received P21.63 million from 2002 up to 2011.

Below is the list of the annual salary of CJ Renato Corona from 2002 to 2011, as read by Ms. Bayuga, who later noted that it amounted to a total of P5,872,859.82.

* 2002 – P353,045.00

* 2003 – P485,100.00

* 2004 – P485,100.00

* 2005 – P485,100.00

* 2006 – P485,100.00

* 2007 – P508,248.72

* 2008 – P627,763.20

* 2009 – P645,653.90

* 2010 – P650,447.23

* 2011 – P1,147,301.77

Ms. Bayuga also detailed the allowances and benefits which includes longevity pay , representation allowance, transportation allowance, extra ordinary miscellaneous allowance, monthly special allowance, additional cost of living allowance, productivity incentive benefit, clothing allowance, year-end bonus and cash gift loyalty, cash awards, and extra ordinary miscellaneous from Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET).
