The control of the US Senate remains on the side of the Democrats with a slim edge over the Republicans after the 2012 US Elections on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Democrats will celebrate their Senate victory with US President Obama‘s re-election win over Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
Democrat candidates won seats in Massachusetts and Indiana that were previously held by Republicans.
The Democrats were able to maintain control of Virginia, Ohio and Connecticut as they survive a fierce and expensive campaign in these states.
Other states were the Democrats reportedly led include New Mexico, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Republican candidates won elections in Nebraska, Texas, Tennessee, Wyoming and Mississippi.
