CNN’s 2011 Heroes Nomination Deadline is August 31, 2011: ”Do You Know Someone Who Could Be a CNN Hero?”

Cable News Network, CNN is accepting nominations for its 2011 CNN Heroes up to August 31, 2011, 12:01:00 AM PST. The online nomination is ongoing as announced by CNN on its site.

The categories for the CNN Heroes are Championing Children, Community Crusader, Defending the Planet, Medical Marvel, Protecting the Powerless, Young Wonder and Other categories.  The nominee must be at least 13 years old and has exemplified a CNN hero. The nominee’s activities should have taken place November 25, 2010 or ongoing. All countries are invited except for the few exceptions mentioned in the site.

Ten finalists will be selected by a CNN Review Panel and the final judging will be through online voting at the CNNheroes.com. The nominee with the highest votes will be officially announced by CNN.

The CNN hero’s slogan “Everyday people changing the world,” has awarded several heroes in the past including Liz McCartney 2008 Hero, Efren Penaflorida 2009 Hero, and Anuradha Koirala 2010 Hero of the Year.
