Clive Davis reportedly canceled the 2012 pre-Grammy party, which is supposed to be held this Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, after singer Whitney Houston passed away at the age of 48.

According to Just Jared that day, Clive Davis has canceled the scheduled pre-Grammy party, an event before the 2012 Grammy Awards, where Whitney Houston was supposed to perform, along with other noted singers.

As reported earlier, Whitney Houston was found dead at 3:55 p.m. (LA time) on Saturday, February 11, at the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with cause of death not yet known as of this writing.

“He’s not having it anymore. It’s been canceled. Very unfortunate.” Davis‘ label was quoted in a statement at, as Twitter was filled with tweets RIP Whitney Houston.

“They are trying to pull together a memorial of sorts for grieving. They are trying to turn away as many people as possible.” A source was quoted in the report.

Davis, 79, who discovered Houston and later signed her to Arista Records, notably gave the biggest break for the American singer in the music industry who eventually won six Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, and 22 American Music Awards.

Houston, who was married with Bobby Brown from 1992 to 2007 and has one child named Bobbi Kristina with him, had troubles in her life in the past years but is now being remembered for her singing talent.

Among her hit songs include “The Greatest Love Of All”, “I Always Love You”, “Queen Of The Night”, with the singer also starred at 1992 box-office hit “The Bodyguard” opposite Kevin Costner.
