With this, Christina Aguilera issued a public apology, which reads, “I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through.”

As reported earlier, Christina Aguilera sang “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming?” at the fourth stanza of the American National Anthem instead of “”O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?”

Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera also received a lot of praises including from fellow entertainers such as of the Black Eyed Peas who performed during the half time.
