Christie‘s auction house in London, will be placing Francis Bacon‘s “Untitled (Crouching Nude on Rail)” painting on a contemporary works sale on June 29, 2011, according to reports by several international news sites.

The 7-foot-high, 1961 painting of UK‘s most expensive artist, is expected to fetch around $15 million.

Crouching Nude“, a canvas of a smiling woman, will be on display at the Christie’s New York galleries from May 6-9, 2011.

The painting, currently valued around £7 million to £9 million, is a composite of Bacon‘s friends that include Isabel Rawsthorne, Henrietta Moraes and Muriel Belcher.

The “Crouching Nude” painting was bought by an anonymous buyer in the  2006 exhibit in the Gagosian Gallery, London.

Other famous and expensive paintings of Bacon include “Triptych,” bought in 2008 by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for $86.3 million and “Three Studies for Self Portrait,” will be on display at Christie’s International in New York on May 11, 2011.
