Chile Earthquake with 5.4 magnitude, entre regions of Valparaiso and O’Higgins hit

An earthquake occurred in Chile on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 03:51:04 PM at epicenter (Chile time) with a 5.4 magnitude, and the entire regions of Valparaiso and O’Higgins was hit, according to US Geological Survey.

The epicenter of the earthquake was reported to be 160 km (100 miles) southwest of Valparaiso, and in the regions of Liberatodor O’Higgins, as well as in Santiago, Chile’s capital.

Meanwhile, Chilean news like La Nacion have confirmed the report and said that the Seismological Service of the Department of Geophysics of Chile have measured the earthquake at a depth of 17 kilometers, about 114 kilometers northwest of Pichilemu.

According to the website of the National Emergency Office Home Office (Onemi), there were no reported damage to properties or injuries to people related to the said earthquake.
