Chicago CTA Train Crash on Car in Northwest Side

International news sites reported that a Chicago Train Authority (CTA) Brown Line train hit a car before hitting the platform at the Kedzie station on the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, on Sunday morning, November 28, 2010.

The CTA train crash left the driver of the car seriously injured and is now in critical condition. The car driver and the train operator were both taken to the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. The train operator was declared to be in good condition.No injuries were reported on the train passengers.

Initial police investigation report revealed that the car was hit by the train around 7:10 a.m. in the 4600 block of North Kedzie Avenue.

The train was derailed due to the crash causing the temporary suspension of the service between the Kimball and Western stations.
