Cheesecake Factory To Serve ‘SkinnyLicious’ Menu

The Cheesecake Factory will cut down on its calories by serving its new “SkinnyLicious” menu starting August 9, according to reports by several international news sites on Monday, August 1, 2011.

The “SkinnyLicious” menu, separated from the main menu of The Cheesecake Factory, follows a strict calorie guidelines for about 40 items including favorite Beets with Goat Cheese, Chicken Pot Stickers and Asian Chicken Salad. The new menu, available in all 151 shops, will introduce 13 items that include Mexican Tortilla Salad, SkinnyLicious Hamburger and Tuscan Chicken.

According to The Cheesecake Factory CEO David Overton, the new menu is “something America wants.” He explained that “When you’re in this business, you have to please as many people as you can.”

Restaurants in the US are being encourage to list down the calorie counts on its menus due to the growing obesity concerns.

Earlier reports said that Carl’s Jr. has launched an under-500-calorie Turkey Burger about three months ago while Starbucks started serving low-cal entrees.
