Charice won the Best New Artist award in J-Wave’s Tokyo Hot 100, on February 24 in Japan, beating Justin Bieber and other new music artists, according to international entertainment news sites.

Charice Pempengco, the Pinay international singing sensation who continuously is making a name in the worldwide music industry, won as the Best New Artist in J-Wave, a Tokyo-based commercial radio station.

J-Wave, which is broadcasting on 81.3FM from the Tokyo Tower, announced that Charice was voted winner for the said category, which was confirmed by her Mommy Raquel to ABS-CBN News on Friday.

Apparently, Charice beat Justin Bieber as well as other popular international singers including Ke$ha, Rox, Kara, Orianthi, and Bruno Mars.

Incidentally, Charice is still on her Japan 2011 concert tour from February 21 to 23 in Nagoya and Tokyo, as well as in Osaka on February 25.
