Charice admits being a lesbian, confirming earlier rumors that showed her photos wearing short hair and posing like a man. The international singing sensation admits her being a “tomboy” during an exclusive interview by Boy Abunda at “The Buzz,” ABS-CBN‘s weekly showbiz talk show, as shown in the video below.

As aired at ABS-CBN today, Sunday, June 2, 2013, Charice Pempengco finally admitted that she is a lesbian, after keeping her silence for a long time. She also confirmed her real relationship with Alyssa Quijano, and talked about the alleged feud with her mother, Mommy Raquel Pempengco.
“Opo, tomboy po ako. Hindi ko po alam kung ano ang problema nun. Kasi para po sa akin wala pong problema yun. Ngayon gusto ko pong humingi ng patawad sa mga hindi po nakaintindi, sa mga hindi po ako matatanggap. Sorry po. Naiintindihan ko po kayo. Pero sa lahat ng makakatanggap, matatanggap po ako maraming maraming salamat po.”
(Yes, I am a lesbian. I don’t know what’s the problem with that. I have no problem with that, though. Now, I just want to apologize to those who cannot understand, to those who cannot accept me. I am sorry. I understand all of you. But if you can understand and accept me, thank you very much.)
Later, Boy Abunda asked Charice about her rumored relationship with Alyssa Quijano, a member of AKA JAM group that became after famous at X Factor Philippines. The 21-year old “Pyramid” singer said that she and Alyssa have known each other since they were 10 and 9 years old, and competed against each other on singing contests.
“Sana mabuksan niyo yung puso ko para makita niyo yung sagot! (I wish you can open my heart to see my answer.” Charice told Boy Abunda, when he asked her if she loves Alyssa, noting that Alyssa is a very special person to her, her inspiration, and one of the sources of her strength.
Earlier on the interview, Charice admitted that she had a misunderstanding with her Mommy Raquel and that she knows that her mother was hurt more than she was. However, the singer emphasized that they are now civil to each other and still trying to patch up things.
