Captain America, Starring Chris Evans, Beats Harry Potter in Friday Box Office Earnings

Captain America: The First Avenger” starring Chris Evans, has beaten “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” starring Daniel Radcliffe at the Friday Box Office. This was reported by US entertainment news sites, July 23, 2011.

Reportedly, Captain America has earned about $25.8 million, Friday and midnight screenings, while “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” (on its second week) has its Friday’s earnings at $14.6 million.

The Harry Potter film, however has earned a hefty $240.7 million within two weeks of its domestic screening.

Evans, 30, has refused the role, at first, but later on changed his mind and accepted the role of Captain America. Evans plays Steve Rogers in the movie, which also stars Tommy Lee Jones and Hayley Atwell.

Chris Evans has visited the Comic-Con 2011 to promote his movie, “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
