Candle Recall 2011: Over 7 Million Candles Being Recalled By CPSC

More than 7 million candles were being recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to a candle cup holder concern, according to reports by several international news sites.

According to a CPSC report, the candle that will be recalled are those with brand name Chesapeake Bay Candle and Modern Light.

The candles on recall, with clear plastic dup, were sold at Home Goods, Target, Wegmans and other US stores between July 2009 and February 2011.

The CPSC explained that the candle cup holder can melt or ignite, posing a fire and burn hazard.

No injuries or property damage have been reported as of posting.
