Former United States President George H. W. Bush is in stable condition at a Houston hospital, international news sites reported on Friday, November 30, 2012.
According to reports, Methodist Hospital spokesman George Kovacik said on Friday that there is no change in the status of the former president.
Jim McGrath, a spokesman for the former president reportedly said that “he still has the cough and we’re now not expecting him to be discharged this weekend.” McGrath added that the doctors are “going to play it safe there for obvious reasons.”
McGrath reportedly said that the “cough has taken longer [than expected] to clear up.”
Bush is said to be being treated for his bronchitis-related cough. He has been visited in the hospital by his son, former President George W. Bush and latter’s wife, Laura Bush.
This marks Bush‘s second extended hospital stay since November, reports said.
