The 2012 British Open has a new leader going into the final round on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes, according to a report at The Open Championship official website.

Adam Scott is now on top of the 141st Open Championship leaderboard after finishing the third round with a two-under-par 68. He has carded 64 and 67 during the opening two rounds.

The 31-year-old Australian took a four shot lead over Brandt Snedeker and Graeme McDowell as they head into Sunday’s championship round.

Scott is seeking to win his first major title and become the 16th different winner in the last 16 major championships. Reports say that he has won eight times on both the European Tour and PGA Tour.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods is currently in fourth place, five shots behind Scott.
