TV Line, which was believed to be the first one to reveal the first details of Disney Channel‘s Girl meets World in early November, reported this Monday, November 26, 2012, that they learned that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have officially signed for the upcoming Boy meets World sequel.

“We can confirm that Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will reprise their hugely popular roles of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence, this time as a happily married couple and parents to 13-year-old Riley, from whose point of view the story is told.” A Disney Channel rep was quoted telling to E! Online.

“The pilot is still in the very early stages of development with creator and executive producer Michael Jacobs, Emmy Award-winning creator/producer behind Boy Meets World, My Two Dads, and Charles In Charge, among others. A nationwide casting search is underway for the starring role of Riley Matthews.” The rep added.

Meanwhile, Danielle Fishel talked about Girl meets World on her official Tumblr page on Monday, saying that the show is entirely new and is not Boy meets World being brought back to life in current day, similar to the earlier reports that it will center on Riley, who will have a friend named Maya.

“I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear. I am going to do my best to not speak for others with this open post. It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages.” Fishel wrote on her Tumblr page.

“It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages. BMW never spoke down to the audience and we are going to do our best to never do that with GMW. But please keep in mind that this there will be episode 1, of season 1, of a brand new show.” Fishel added, with GMW being expected to be taped in February 2013.
