Superhero movie ‘The Avengers‘ reportedly made a massive box-office on its opening weekend in 38 countries around the world including Philippines, and has already earned a total of over $178 million.

According to on Sunday, April 29, 2012, Walt Disney Pictures revealed that ‘The Avengers‘ movie has now earned $178.4 million in the worldwide box-office for the past 5 days since its opening last Wednesday, April 25.

The Avengers‘, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, and to be shown in US and Canada this coming Friday, May 4, reportedly made a total of $17.1 million on its opening day in 12 countries including Philippines; with New Zealand, Taiwan, Iceland and Malaysia having the biggest opening days.

As noted in the report, Latin America dominated with the highest opening weekend of all time in major markets like Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Central America, Peru, and Boliva; as well as Asian countries such as Hong King, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Philippines.

For the details, ‘The Avengers‘, directed by Joss Whedon, has the following box-office earnings: UK $24.7M, Australia $19.7M, Mexico $15.9M, Korea $12.9M, France $12.7M, Brazil $11.3M, Italy $10.4M, Taiwan $7.7M, Spain $7.3M, Germany $6.7M, Philippines $6.5M, and Hong Kong $4.6M.

As of Friday, the superhero movie made into the box office as follows: Australia $11.1M, UK $9.4M, France $6.8M, Italy $5.8M, Mexico $4.7M, Korea $4.5M, Taiwan $3.6M, Germany $3.4M, Philippines $3.4M, Brazil $2.8M, Hong Kong $1.8M, and Spain $1.7M.

The Avengers‘ movie, which combined much-loved superheroes of all time, stars Robert Downey, Jr as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, among others.
