Forty-four passengers aboard a Boeing 737 are feared dead after the passenger airliner crashed while landing in the city of Kazan, several Russian news sites reported on Monday, November 18, 2013.
According to reports, the Boeing airliner crashed at about 7:20pm local time on Sunday. There were no immediate reports of what may have caused the crash.
The Boeing 737 was said to be owned by Tatarstan Airlines. The flight came from Moscow, reports said.
A local representative of the Emergencies Ministry, Irina Rossius, was quoted as saying preliminary information indicated 44 people were aboard and no one survived.
Kazan is approximately 450 miles east of Moscow, reports said.
