Blizzard Announces StarCraft 2 Free Play Weekend November 19 to 21, 2010

Blizzard announced in their website that they will be having a StarCraft 2 Free Play Weekend this November 19 to November 21, 2010. Starcraft 2 Free Play Weekend will enable players from Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand to play Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty for free during this period.

Blizzard, the creators of blockbuster games such asĀ World of Warcraft, Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo series explained that eligible players need to create a Battle.net account, download the StarCraft 2 game client, install the game, and play.

The gaming company said “Eligible players will receive free access to both Single Player and Multiplayer modes of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty for a 72 hour period starting at 12:01 a.m. Singapore time on Friday, November 19th and ending at 11:59 p.m. Singapore time Sunday, November 21st.”

In their Support and FAQ Page, Blizzard explained, “The Free Play weekend is intended for people who have not already purchased StarCraft II, similar to an open beta test for players to try the game out on a limited-time basis”. They further encouraged players “If you have any friends who have not tried or are interested in trying StarCraft II, this is the perfect opportunity for them to do so”.
