BlackBerry outage problems hit 4 continents, spread across US and North America

The ongoing BlackBerry outage problems have already hit 4 continents as of Wednesday, October 12 and has spread across the US and North America, which started last Monday in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Apparently, BlackBerry users complained of having problems with instant messaging, email and web browsing, with the email services started to resume about almost a day after.

However, BlackBerry users from the US and North America including Canada are now complaining about the same problems particularly email services and are using Twitter to voice out their concerns.

Meanwhile, Research In Motion (RIM) has acknowledged the BlackBerry outage problems and noted earlier that messaging and browsing delays were caused by a core switch failure within its infrastructure.

“We’re aware many BlackBerry customers are experiencing intermittent service delays. Restoring full service is our number one priority.” BlackBerry said on their official Facebook page about an hour ago.

“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience. We will provide a further update as soon as more information is available.” BlackBerry added, and provided a link to RIM‘s official press page with a string of messages on the status of the problem, with some of the latest ones listed below.

BlackBerry subscribers in the Americas may be experiencing intermittent service delays this morning. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience. We will provide a further update as soon as more information is available.

We know that many of you are still experiencing service problems. The resolution of this service issue is our Number One priority right now and we are working night and day to restore all BlackBerry services to normal levels. We will continue to keep this page updated.
