Big East Tournament 2011 Begins in Hartford Connecticut

The Big East Tournament 2011 began March 4, at the XL Center, Hartford CT, according to international sports sites, March 5, 2011.

The Big East Tournament winner will proceed to the NCAA tournament. The UConn Huskies were the season champion in the previous tournament.

One of the most prestigious tournaments of the season, The Big East can produce the Champion for the NCAA. The Pitt Panthers, West Virginia, Fighting Irish, are some of the favorites for this tournament.  The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame with superb player Ben Hansbrough could nail their winning streak with another win in the Big East Tournament.  This is with or without Ben Hansbrough.

The other Big East Tournament 2011 contenders are the Louisville Cardinals, Syracuse Orangemen, St. John’s Red Storm, Cincinnati Bear Cats, Georgetown Hoyas, and Villanova Wildcats.
