Singer Beyonce Knowles will perform at XLVII Super Bowl halftime, as confirmed by the singer when she posted a photo on her official website, as shown below. The event will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on February 3, 2013 and that date was splashed on her both cheeks.

“Countdown to Touchdown” A tagline says on her huge photo at, apparently confirming that she will indeed perform on the said event. Although there was no other statement on it, Pepsi, a major sponsor of the Super Bowl 2013 confirmed it on their official website.

Pepsi announces Beyonce will be performing at this year’s Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show.” A statement reads at this Wednesday, October 17, along with a link to their official Facebook page announcing that Beyonce will be performing at the XLVII Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans.

Nevertheless, the 31-year old mother of Blue Ivy Carter is not anymore new to Super Bowl performances. She sang the American national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004 in her hometown, Houston, when the New England Patriots won over the Carolina Panthers.

As of this writing, there is no official statement from Beyonce as to what songs she will perform on that special sports event, but rumors say that she could be joined by her rapper husband Jay-Z or she may be reunited with her former bandmates from Destiny’s Child: Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Among the other singers who performed during the Super Bowl halftime include Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, and Madonna, who was joined by Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, and M.I.A. According to the Nielsen ratings, her performance was watched by 114 million viewers.
