American singer Beyonce Knowles released her ‘I Was Here’ music video on Saturday, August 18, 2012, as shown below, as part of the global launch of World Humanitarian Day (WHD) this Sunday, August 19; with the website whd-iwashere.org inviting everybody to be part of their humanitarian work.

As noted at Beyonce.com that day, Beyonce‘s ‘I Was Here’ music video was filmed at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations last August 10 and was directed by Kenzo Digital and Sophie Muller. The 30-year old singer can be seen wearing a sparkling white gown during her performance.
“I was here/I lived, I loved/I was here/ I did, I’ve done, everything that I wanted/And it was more than I thought it would be.” Beyonce sings, as part of the lyrics of the song, with the ‘I Was Here’ music video ending with the question “What Will You Do?”
“Join Beyonce, the UN and humanitarian aid organizations around the world to reach 1 billion people, on 1 day, with 1 message of hope.” A statement reads at whd-iwashere.org, requesting everyone to add their voice by signing up on their website with their social network.
“On August 19th, every message will be automatically sent out as one voice, along with a special World Humanitarian Day performance by Beyonce.” The website added, with the number of people signing up reaching almost 832, 000 as of this writing, or around 6 hours left.
The song “I Was Here”, written by Diane Warren, is the latest cut of Beyonce‘s fourth album titled “4“, which was released last June 24, 2011 that includes her earlier hits “Run The World (Girls),” “Best Thing I Never Had,” “Love on Top,” “Party,” “Countdown” and “1+1.”
Back in November 2011, Beyonce released a video of her live performance of “I Was Here (Live at Roseland)“, as part of her DVD ‘Live at Roseland: Elements of 4’, which contains her home movies and her professional highlights.
