Beyoncé‘s gay marriage support comes along with the lyrics of her hit song ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),’ as shown in the photo below, as the singer joins Hollywood in supporting marriage equality. The US Supreme Court has just ended the 2-day reviewing of the controversial Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

“If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it #WeWillUnite4MarriageEquality” Beyonce wrote a red piece of paper, which was posted on her Facebook account this Wednesday, March 27, 2013, and now has nearly 34,300 Shares and more than 116,300 Likes. The same note also appeared on her Instagram account.
Beyoncé’s gay marriage advocacy joins other Hollywood celebrities such as Kate Walsh, Lance Bass, Padma Lakshmi, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sophia Bush, Patrick Stewart, Sara Bareilles, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Cindy Crawford, Russell Simmons, Kristen Bell, Seth McFarlane and many more.
Singers Madonna and Ricky Martin were among the singers who are open in supporting same-sex marriage. Other stars such as Trina, Alyssa Milano, and Lance Bass posted the red-hued version of the Human Rights Campaign‘s logo on their official Facebook profiles, joining hundreds of individuals.
And while there are still those who are not in favor in same-sex marriage, US President Barack Obama showed his support to the LGBT community by tweeting this Wednesday a photo of himself with the message, urging people to “reach up and close that gap between America is and what America should be.”
Meanwhile, the US Supreme Court has just wrapped up their DOMA debate, with the nine Supreme Court Justices presenting their arguments on the legality of gay marriage. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. was heard seemed to be in doubt of the idea that married gay people might not have sufficient rights.
Apparently, America’s highest court is also being expected to decide on banning gay marriage in California. Same-sex marriage is already legal in nine US states and in the District of Columbia. The US Supreme Court ruling over DOMA is being set by the end of June this year.
