Best Car Brands Based on 2014 Consumer Car Perception SurveyBy Alex Jusi Madlangbayan on Feb 12, 2014 in Automobile, Business, Technology •
The best car brands for 2014 is still dominated by Toyota, Ford, Honda, and Chevrolet, according to the latest survey results of the Consumer Reports’ annual Car-Brand Perception Survey.
Leading car brands were ranked by consumers based on seven categories that include quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation.
The scores received for each category reflects the total brand-perception score of consumers on the brand’s image but it does not reflect the actual qualities of any brand’s vehicles.
These perceptions were either influenced by “word-of-mouth, marketing, and hands-on experience.”
The top four car brands earlier mentioned were enjoying a long-standing public perception of being the best car brands. Subaru and Tesla however, are slowly gaining ground and has gone up the ladder.
Toyota still leads the way among the best car brands with a 25-point edge over Ford. Despite losing 16 points this year, Honda remains in third place. Chevrolet obviously gained 13 points from Honda’s loss and holds fourth place.
Most promising car brands include Tesla Motors which garnered 88 points this year from last yea’s 47 points.
