Best Buy iPad 2 price cut by $50, as iPad 3 release date rumors getting near

Best Buy has cut the iPad 2 price by $50 on Sunday, February 26, 2012, as the rumored iPad 3 release date is getting near and shipping via Foxconn is allegedly going on.

As announced at BestBuy.com, the price of the Wi-Fi-only 16GB iPad 2 is now $449.99 from $499.99, while its 32-GB iPad 2 is now $549.99 from $599.99 and its 64GB version is now $649.99 from $699.99.

On the other hand, the Wi-Fi and 3G iPad 2 was cut to $579.99 from $629.99 for the 16GB model, while the 32GB version is now $679.99 from $729.99, and the 64GB model is now $779.99 from $829.99.

Apparently, Best Buy did not release any statement about the iPad 2 price cut but observers believed that it could be related to the upcoming iPad 3 release, which earlier reports saying that it could be on March 7, 2012 in an Apple event.

Meanwhile, technology news sites are now saying Chinese microblogging website Apple.pro revealed on what is being believed to be a shipping document of the iPad 3 from China to the Apple headquarters in California.

According to a translate statements at Apple.pro, a major international cargo charter flight carrying iPad 3 units departed from Chengdu International Airport in China on Sunday, February 26 and will have a stop-over in Shanghai.

Afterwards, the shipment, which was said to be under strict security, is scheduled to arrive in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles on Friday, March 9, or two days after the rumored iPad 3 announcement.
