Beijing Auto Show: More Cleaner Cars at the Auto China 2012 Exhibition

More cleaner cars will be unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show which opened on Monday, April 23 and will end on May 2. The Auto China 2012 exhibition will showcase more green technology cars, according to reports by several international news sites.

Car manufacturers are reportedly offering cleaner but slower and more expensive vehicles to Chinese customers.

Reports say that the Beijing Auto Show will launch 120 new models from domestic and international manufacturers. These new models will feature a collection of concept cars and new energy saving vehicles.

Among the car makers that will unveil electric or hybrid cars include Toyota, BMW, Honda and BYD.

China is reportedly investing over $14 billion to develop the needed technology and infrastructure to manufacture clean energy cars. Reports say that China is aiming to have more than 5 million clean cars on the road by 2020.
