Without a warning, ‘Man of Steel’ director Zack Snyder surprised everyone inside the H hall by introducing the Harry Lennix (who portrayed the role of General Swanwick in Man of Steel). Then a combined logo of Batman and Superman appeared on screen.

“I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come. In all your private moments. I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you.” Harry Lennix told the crowd, quoting a line from Frank Miller’s 1989 comic book “The Dark Knight Returns.” Speculations surface that this is more a Batman vs Superman film.

Shortly after, Warner Bros released a press release confirming the arrival of the Batman Superman movie. The studio also confirmed that Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as the Man of Steel, and the actor to play Dark Knight is still being searched. Production is being expected to start in 2014.

Zack Snyder is an incredibly talented filmmaker, but beyond that, he’s a fan first and he utterly gets this genre. We could not think of anyone better suited to the task of bringing these iconic Super Heroes to the screen in his own way.” Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, said in the press release.

Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack‘s continuing vision for the DC Universe.” DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson said.

According to the announcement, Zack Snyder will co-write the story for the upcoming movie with David S. Goyer, who will write the screenplay. Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas, Benjamin Melniker, and Michael E. Uslan will the executive producers, while Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder as producers.
