Barbara Bush Announces Her Support for Gay Marriage on Video

Barbara Bush, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, has announced her support for gay marriage on Tuesday through a video, according to international reports. Her pronouncement together with her mother and other Republicans is opposite to her father’s stand on this key social issue on same-sex unions.

The video, featuring the 29-year old Barbara Bush, was released by the national gay rights organization, The Human Rights Campaign. Barbara Bush is a New York resident who runs Global Health Corps, a nonprofit public health organization. Other notable names who appeared on the video include Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Setting aside political affiliations, they all showed their support on same-sex marriage.

I’m a New Yorker for marriage equality. New York is about fairness and equality and everyone should have the right to marry the person that they love.
